Privacy policy

What personal information we collect, why, and your rights.

Who is responsible

This website (www.ecodatatechnologies.com) is operated by Eco Data Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria, based in Lagos, Nigeria.

For privacy questions, email enquiries@ecodatatechnologies.com.

What we collect

  • Newsletter and country requests: your email address and, if you give it, your first name, so we can send what you asked for.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, organisation (optional) and message, so we can reply.
  • Accounts: if you have an account, your username, email address and profile details.
  • Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider records basic request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the service secure.

How we use it

Only to provide the service you asked for: sending the newsletter, replying to messages, managing accounts and keeping the site secure. We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

  • Mailchimp (Intuit), which sends our newsletter and stores subscriber details on our behalf.
  • Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
  • Google Translate, only if you choose a machine translation of a page.

Cookies and browser storage

The site uses essential cookies for signed-in users and stores small preferences in your browser, such as whether you dismissed an announcement. Where non-essential cookies are used, you can accept or decline them in the cookie banner.

How long we keep it

Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and similar laws, you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link. To exercise your rights, email us at the address above.

Changes

We will update this policy if what we collect or how we use it changes.
